We are a specialist youth service providing psychological assessment, mental health and NDIS therapeutic supports to children and young people 3-30 years.

At Chercheuse Psychology our mission is to support children, young people, their families and people living with disabilities to be the best possible versions of themselves in order to flourish in the world in which they live. To have the skills, resilience and confidence to face life’s challenges with a sense of self-efficacy.

We value respectful relationships and personal difference. Our psychologists recognise that every person and family brings unique perspectives to therapy. We aim to find pathways for your journey through flexible, eclectic and conscious therapeutic practice which is informed and evidence-based.


Principal Psychologist:
Denise Hardingham

Denise is the Founder, managing Director and Principal Psychologist at Chercheuse Psychology. She is an experienced psychologist and qualified teacher, full Member of the Australian Psychologists and Counsellors in Schools (MAPACS) and Member of the Australian Psychological Society (MAPS).

Denise has worked extensively in schools including assessment, psychotherapy and consultative support for children and adolescents with mental health issues and those impacted by disability. Denise has substantial expertise in early intervention. Prior to her career in education Denise has worked with people with disabilities across the life span in a range of settings.

Denise currently sits on the executive committees for APACS (National) and is the President of APACS – South Eastern Australia.. 

In 2018 Denise co-presented at the International School Psychology Association conference in Japan on the use of evidence-based psychotherapy in schools, Evidence-based Practice in Counselling: are school psychologists using what works?, 40th Annual ISPA Conference, 16th July 2018).

Denise is committed to genuine functional outcomes for young people and their families. She is a highly skilled practitioner synthesising the most current research with client needs to reach individual goals.

Registered Psychologist:
Kelse Sheehan

Kelse is a registered psychologist, early career lecturer in psychology and Member of the Australia Psychological Society (MAPS). Kelse believes in the transformative power of trust, safety and humour in therapy.

Kelse has over 10 years of experience in providing mental health support to children and young people who are impacted by mental health issues, disability, and behavioural problems. Her clinical experiences include evidence-based assessment, intervention, counselling, case management, behaviour support, and delivery of mental health workshops to youth. She has worked within government and non-government organisations, which includes the Department of Communities and Justice (Juvenile Justice), secondary school settings, Headspace Early Psychosis, Private Practice and NDIS Services.

Kelse is passionate about working with children, young people, and their families to acheive their goals. She is skilled in CBT, DBT, and Motivational Interviewing and is experienced in providing positive behaviour support strategies. Kelse collaboratively works with her clients to support them in reaching their goals.


Fees, Referrals and Rebates

You can book an appointment with us at any time – no referral necessary. However, to access Medicare rebates you will need a referral from your GP. 

We are committed to making life as easy as possible for our clients. Payment is made in full at your session by either credit card or EFT. We can process your Medicare rebates for you or you can claim these through your MyGov portal. Ask us about this when you book or at your first session.

When you book with us we will send you an information pack including clear instructions on how to find us. The information pack contains important forms which are ideally completed and returned before your first session to make the most of your time. If you are having difficulty completing them or would like support we can do this at your first session.

You can make or change appointments up to 24 hours prior to your appointment time. For more information about cancellations please see our Cancellation Policy available in your information pack.

Standard Appointment during business hours:  $220 (50 mins)

Saturday Appointments and sessions starting after 5pm: $250 (50 mins)

Sunday Appointments are not available.

NDIS participant fees are set in accordance with the current NDIS Pricing Arrangements and Price Limits.

If you have a Mental Health Care Plan (MHCP) provided by your GP you may be able to receive rebates for your sessions. The current standard rebate applied is $96.65.

Chercheuse Psychology does not Bulk Bill.
