If you would like to access Medicare rebates for your sessions, you will need to see your GP first to discuss eligibility for a MHCP. Please bring your plan with you to your first session. Plans can not be put in place retrospectively so please see your GP before your session to apply Medicare rebates.
When you book online an Intake Pack will be emailed to you for completion at least two days before your first session. Our schedule of fees is included in this pack.
If you have any further queries before making a booking, please call or email us.
What is psychotherapeutic intervention?
Many of you would probably think of this as counselling. At Chercheuse we believe in respectful, clear communication. For that reason we think it’s important to be really clear about what “counselling” means. We are registered psychologist’s and as such our interventions are actually quite varied and include so much more than counselling alone. Although for many this remains a key element of intervention.
At your first session we will discuss your needs and make a plan for therapy. We aim to be flexible and find the right solutions for your needs.
Children may require psychometric assessments to answer a range of educational and developmental questions. Psychometric assessment is used in the diagnosis and understanding of a range of childhood developmental disorders and challenges including:
Specific Learning Disorders (colloquially known as dyslexia, dysgraphia, dyscalculia etc)
Attention Deficit Hyperactivity Disorder
Autism Spectrum Disorder
Giftedness
Psychometric tests are standardised measures of cognitive and behavioural functioning used as part of a holistic assessment. In conjunction with a range of other information, such as clinical observations and interviews with parents and teachers, these tests contribute to informing diagnosis, educational support plans and appropriate therapeutic intervention.
Please call us to discuss your questions and concerns for your child and we will be able to offer you an assessment quote based on your needs.
ASSESSMENTS CAN NOT BE BOOKED ONLINE – Please call or email us.
